A message from the Founder

When I founded Baobab Expeditions in 2005, my dream was to offer the most captivating discovery expeditions, and my vision was to create a unique approach to exploring Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America and South America.

I grew up near St. Moritz in the Swiss Alps. With a deep love for the mountains since early childhood, one of my ambitions was to set up a Ski Tour Operation. The African Expedition dream began back in 1996 while travelling by 4x4 from Kenya to Zimbabwe. Reluctant to return to London, I travelled to Ghana in West Africa and worked on a conservation project in Mole National Park, the largest National Park in Ghana.

In 2003 I drove an expedition-equipped Land Rover 4x4 through 25 African countries, from London to Cape Town, and Cape Town back to London. All of my experiences on this 18 month research expedition heightened my ambitions and passion, and gave me ideas and insight to help me create a company that reflects my sense of adventure and love of travel. I look forward to welcoming you on an exploration without frontiers.
