Peru is a South American country of 24 million people, bordering on the north with Ecuador and Colombia, on the south with Chile, on the west with the Pacific Ocean and on the east with Brazil and Bolivia. Its geography varies from the arid plains of the Pacific coast to the peaks of the Andes mountains and the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin.

Peruvian territory was home to the Norte Chico civilization, one of the oldest in the world, and to the Inca Empire, the largest state in Pre-Columbian America. The Peruvian population, estimated at 29 million, is multiethnic, including Amerindians, Europeans, Africans and Asians. This mixture of cultural traditions has resulted in a wide diversity of expressions in fields such as art, cuisine, literature, and music.

Explore the wonders of the Amazon at Manu, boasting more than 200 species of mammals, including 13 kinds of primates, more than 1000 species of birds and the highest diversity of amphibians in the Amazon Basin.

Visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World; mesmerizing Machu Picchu.

Witness the Sacred Valley, the Inca ruins of Cusco and sample Lima, with its cultural delights.

Witness enormous tropical snowy peaks and one of the deepest canyons in the world, as well as the highest navigable lake in the world.
