Why VIDA?

Going in search of Jaguars:

View Trip Itinerary

VIDA was founded over two decades ago to help promote the benefits of environmental education and conservation thorough empowering a volunteer workforce with the opportunities of personal, social and cultural growth, increasing its capacity of organization, social vision, self-esteem and desires of collaboration, through an experience of work in rural and urban communities.

The work done by VIDA provides volunteers with a series of activities that have an environmental and social emphasis and provides an educational experience for the participants.

One of VIDA's projects works to support the Santa Elena Forest Reserve and the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve in Monteverde, Costa Rica is a project in which VIDA mixes conservation, eco-tourism and education. It is an example at the national level of conservation of a protected area that is administered and managed by a small community with their inhabitants' direct benefit.

During your visit you have the opportunity to:

See the result of the work done by VIDA in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve in Monteverde

Experience the sights and sounds of the rainforest both by day and by night

Trek deep into the jungle where monkeys, sloths, parrotts and other spectacular wildlife can be seen

Learn more about the delicate eco-system in the depth of the rainforest
